No child should ever be denied an education.
Yet, out of the six children born every minute of every day in Pakistan, only two will ever see the inside of a classroom - and a disproportionate few of these will be girls.

Pakistan’s crumbling state education system is failing its children. More than half of the country’s schools lack drinking water, electricity and sanitation. Dropout rates and teacher absenteeism levels are abysmally high. What schooling is available does little to equip children with the skills they need to survive in modern society.

It’s no wonder then that 50% of the Pakistani population is illiterate, and that two-thirds of women cannot read or write.
