Friends of TCF are looking for a permanent full-time Fundraising Officer. Below is the job description.
Title: Fundraising Officer
Job purpose
The Fundraising Officer will provide all round fundraising and donor-management support to the fundraising Team at the central London office run by 2 employees and 5 trustees.
Main Tasks:
Donor Management
1. Liaising with current donors
2. Acquisition of new donors (through research and/or warm leads)
3. Meticulous file keeping on donor projects & financials (school builds or school support)
4. Donor communication (project updates, school reports etc.)
- Fundraising
1. Marketing input
2. Planning and execution of fundraising events
3. In-depth analysis on potential trusts and foundations
4. Managing Trust and Foundation volunteer group (grant applications)
5. Help develop further corporate income streams
6. Research (for events, media, potential donors etc.)
- Book keeping
We already have a dedicated staff member who is in charge of the accounts but might need occasional assistance on:
1. Monthly management accounts incl. recording of all income received and expenditure
2. Quarterly Gift Aid claims
3. Quarterly restricted donation schedules
Other:
Admin
1. Efficient and effective administrative support
2. Update database and website, when necessary
3. Develop, manage and help maintain web based activities (social networking sites) and newsletter
4. Assist the team with ad hoc projects
5. Handle telephone enquiries from donors
6. Accurate and timely preparation of marketing materials
Person Specifications
Essential:
1. Computer literate – excel, word, power point
2. Excellent written and oral communication
3. Excellent organisation and time management
4. Confident and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills
5. Excellent presentation – ‘client-facing’ role
6. Knowledge of voluntary sector
- Desirable:
1. Min. 1-2 years of fundraising and donor management experience
2. Design knowledge such as Photoshop and html e-mails
3. Book keeping knowledge and numeracy are desirable for this role (sufficient to manage and monitor basic income, expenditure and budgets and to be able to liaise with our outsourced accounting function)
4. IT know-how
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and managing a wide range of income streams and fundraising methods, including individuals, corporates and trusts.
This is a busy role in a small team and one which requires an enthusiastic, confident, hands-on, numerate person passionate about the cause (education) with meticulous attention to detail and exceptional fundraising skills.
