Muhammad Khalid dreams of becoming a doctor and making his nation proud

Muhammad Khalid is one of eight siblings. His father is physically disabled and stays at home. It is very hard to make ends meet but ten year old Khalid sells potato snacks by the roadside and different streets to support his family.

Education helps make wishes come true

Grade VIII student, Mohammad Shaheryar, juggles working and studying hard to one day realise his dream of becoming an engineer and making his country proud.

“In the world of cricket, Shahid Afridi has made a name for Pakistan and himself. Just like him I also want to excell in my field so that my country and my people feel proud of me. No one in my entire family can boast to be highly educated. I want to be the first person to make such a claim,” shares Mohammad Shaheryar.

11-year old Bushra Umer Din is one of the many exemplary girls in Pakistan who strive for education against all odds. This little girl is an orphan and lives in a tiny, dank house with her mother and five siblings.

Thousands of children in Pakistan work to support their families. Many among them are forced to leave their homes and families and move to bigger cities to earn enough so they can help make ends meet. Rehmatullah is one such young boy. He has migrated from his home village to Karachi in search of some means to earn for his family and to seek a quality education.

Shazia Mubeen is 11 years old, her father is a poor fisherman and her mother undertakes embroidery work to support the large family comprising six children. This couple hardly earn enough to feed their children properly but that doesn’t stop them from dreaming about their bright future because these children are studying (on scholarships) at The Citizens Foundation School in their neighbourhood.
